Awesome Family Vacation
The property is absolutely beautiful. The ability to go out the back door and explore the countryside with the beautiful wildflowers, creeks and caves, plus have the pool to enjoy made for the most relaxing time for our family. The Perfect Family Ranch in Texas
Oh the view! I cannot say enough good things about our experience, staying at the Starry Sky Ranch in Cranfills Gap. The house has been meticulously curated to accommodate guests. All furnishings are beautiful, Texas appropriate and well thought through for the comfort and aesthetic of the home. Also, the labeling! Drawers, cabinets, closets- everything you could need is available and meticulously labeled and easy to find! And the details from the classic vinyl selection in the pool room, the board games, the books on Texas history, geology, cow identification (a favorite with our group!) and the information on local points of interest and easy day trips made us wish we had booked the whole week! We had 12 people at the ranch and had plenty of space and everyone had a great experience! A favorite was the hand drawn map to the hidden Indian cave and the afternoon excursion to find it! (if you are traveling with kids it is very easy to pop the map out of the three ring binder, and also hide that for them to find!) go on the hike. Look for fossils and arrowheads, and make sure to set aside time to town out all the lights and sit out by the pool to watch the sky. The longer you stare the more layers of stars that seem to appear. It truly was magical. We also managed to sneak in a polar plunge at sunset one night.(the pool is beautiful and the 7 year old and young adults were all game for the plunge!) and you could stare out over the valley for hours and fill your heart. - November 2023
The Most Wonderful Place!
Starry Creek Ranch was the perfect spot for our multi-generational family. We had ages 4 to 71 and the single story home was just what we needed. We swam and cooked and played games and explored the property - it was the best!- Aug 2023

This place is amazing. The pictures absolutely do not do it justice. The hosts have thought of everything, and were very quickly available via text message if needed. We always enjoy our summer family getaway, but this year was special. Everyone loved it here. We will be back! - June 2023
Girls Weekend Fun
We had the BEST girls weekend celebrating our mom’s 70th birthday at the Starry Creek Ranch! The property is absolutely beautiful and the stunning views from the back patio were even more magical than in the pictures. The house and accommodations exceeded all our expectations and we really appreciated all the thoughtfulness that went into everything from the well stocked kitchen and game room to the decor and goodies the owners left for us. Our host Nancy was so helpful in coordinating anything and everything we needed in advance to make sure our stay was extra special, and even arranged for us to have a catered Mexican feast waiting for us upon our arrival on Friday evening! We’re already looking forward to planning our next trip to the Starry Creek Ranch soon! - Summer 2023
When you pick your jaw off the ground from the VIEW you'll have the best time!
Nancy and her husband have got this VRBO thing DOWN. The house is labeled to help you find anything you need and stocked with the same. The views are spectacular from every point IN the house, as well as, by the pool...where you will spend most of your time. We will bring our 4-wheelers next time to explore more of the breathtaking acreage but a truck and walking works just find for younger folk. LOL. The hosts are gracious and the house is outfitted so perfectly that you feel like you live there. We actually bought the same towels they had for us to use during our stay. Don't miss this fantastic spot...for a family weekend or a weekend with friends like we spent. We can't say enough good things. Thanks, Nancy et al. - Sept 2022
Amazing!!
The house, the views, and the hospitality were beyond our expectations. Every restroom was fully stocked with tons of spare towels, shampoo/conditioner, and even provided pool towels. Every room had their own theme and was spot on! We brought my in laws out to relax, disconnect, and take in some awesome views… and this stay did just that! We can’t thank The Hughes Family enough for opening up their beautiful home for others to share!! - August 2022
A little piece of heaven under the big Texas sky
My time here at this ranch has come to an end. As I head home to California, I can’t help remembering all of the fun and relaxation we enjoyed at Starry Creek Ranch. This place is amazing! It is 98 acres of beauty to explore, or if you are wanting a non-adventurous vacation, you can hang out in the luxury ranch house. The owners have spared no expense in making this the ideal “get away from it all” vacation. This ranch house is perfect for an extended family vacation, as it sleeps 14 and is very spacious. I am already planning for the entire family to come in the Fall. The rooms are all decorated with special themes for all ages. I stayed in the Santa Fe Suite which was so much fun to wake up in with its’ incredible views. One of my favorite places in the house was the kitchen, which was a wonderful gathering place for those special memories to be made. The game room is also a family favorite with a newly refurbished pool table, a blue-tooth juke box, and many other fun games to play. We haven’t thought of current events, work, home, nothing. . . totally relaxing. (Of course, wifi, a cute little office, and a large screen TVs are available if wanted). Enjoying the evenings’ spectacular sunset with friends around the pool was something that will be remembered forever. For those that want an adventure on the property, the 98 acres provides a hike down to the pond, exploring to find the creek, and an amazing old Indian cavern. Deer was observed, turtles and fish in the pond, and red cardinals were plentiful. I do recommend that you wear cowboy boots for hiking around the property. For adventures nearby the ranch, brochures for each little town are available, so that you can plan your day trips. We visited the town of Hamilton, which has an old-time courthouse square with a bunch of antique shops around. Also, a fun place was Hico (the rumored retirement town of Billy the Kid). Hico also has touristy shops, an amazing chocolate factory, and a place to purchase the best homemade bread you have ever tasted. Of course, these little finds are provided for you in the brochures the Ranch has put out for your planning. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Totally worth it! - May 2022
